Today’s wod is a short sharp blast that is sure to get the lungs burning. In tackling it you can choose one of 3 strategies. Take it relatively easy from the start while building up the intensity on the last few Thrusters and row the last 400 as hard as you can. Doing it this way allows you finish really strong however at the end you may ask yourself if you could have pushed harder earlier.

You can go at a steady pace the entire time that will challenge you and keep you breathing heavy throughout. With this you may find that you do not hit that peak of oxygen debt nastiness until the last couple of hundred metres or of the row.

Finally you can decide to go out hard and see just how long you can push it for. In the end you may take longer than if you had gone steady however you will learn a little more about your body’s ability to cope under extreme exertion.

When approaching any wod it is always good to go in with an idea of how you are going to tackle it. However like everything else in CrossFit we always seek variance so mix it up try different things and see what works best for you. Soon enough you will begin to get a good idea of what you react best to.
