David Nowell-Cook
(aka COACH)  David Nowell Cook
ACSM Dip (Strength and Conditioning) Dip PT Premier Global

David is well known in the Scottish fitness community for his unusual/challenging workouts. He is a Level 1 CrossFit trainer and holds the CrossFit Olympic lifting Certificate studying under Coach Burgener.

“I found CrossFit on the web one day and got destroyed first time out by Fran. A workout that took 10 min and left me in bits definitely got me hooked and desperate for more. I’d been personal training for a decade and despite priding myself in keeping very current I’d seen nothing like this. So I got across to BGI Florida and got certified, then attended the Olympic lifting cert with the Burgener family and it has taken almost a year since then to find our box in Glasgow.

My background is pro rugby so the encouraging atmosphere, teamwork and fun aspect of CrossFit is what I love and encourage at every single session I lead.

The way I see it is come along for a month and if you haven’t been challenged, pushed and encouraged further and better than ever before then cancel. But if you do turn up be prepared to get a lot fitter, a lot faster and a lot happier than you’ve ever been before. Oh and be prepared for sweat angels on the floor too.”

I find Clan CrossFit a really positive environment. The views of David and those of the other coaches are really refreshing and inspiring, and somewhat reflect my own personal beliefs of a more effective, holistic approach to health.”

Bobby gained his level 1 CrossFit certification in Belfast in October 2011 and continually updates his kettlebell education and expertise in advanced corrective-exercise assessment and application.
